Patricia Michele Johnston
I was born in Washington, D.C. and spent my life in Alexandria, VA until after a hiking trip, I fell in love with beautiful Colorado and decided to move to Boulder in 2007.
Most of my career was spent as a legal assistant with law firms both in the Washington, D.C. area and Boulder.
My love for yoga and meditation lead me naturally to the study of Reiki and energy healing.
After studying with various teachers in Colorado I developed an essential understanding of the powerful healing potential of energy and received my Reiki I and II degrees. I then received my Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher certification in Sedona, AZ from Laurelle Gaia and Michael Baird through the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) in 2014, and now through the ICRT I teach Usui Reiki classes. For the past few years I have been studying the traditional methods and philosophy of Japanese Reiki for an eclectic approach to teaching.
Since 2015, I have been a Certified Medical Reiki Master. Being certified as a Medical Reiki Master enables me to administer Reiki as a practitioner of Energy Medicine, Integrative Medicine and Complementary and Alternative Medicine. For 2 years I was the Director of Trainings for Raven Keyes Medical Reiki International. In 2016 I became a Certified Medical Reiki Master Teacher, which allowed me to travel and teach and share my passion for Medical Reiki and the many benefits of Reiki during surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, birthing and end of life transitioning.
After taking 2 levels of Sound Healing with Himalayan Singing Bowls through Atma Buti Sound & Vibrational School in 2018, I offer vibrational sound healing therapy as part of any Reiki session.
I am certified as an Animal Reiki Practitioner through the Misha May Foundation in Denver, Colorado; I am also certified in Kathleen Prasad's courses of Let Animal's Lead philosophy and teachings. Additionally, I became certified as a Meditation Teacher in 2018.
Along with my practice and teaching, I volunteer my services through LifeSpark Cancer Resources to give Reiki to cancer patients. LifeSpark provides free Reiki sessions throughout the Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs metropolitan areas. Our role as a LifeSpark energy provider is to empower the cancer patient to listen to their own inner wisdom as they heal.
Healing Hands Reiki of Boulder was selected as the Winner of The Boulder Awards in the category of Reiki Therapist and Teacher for 2022, 2023 and 2024 and now now qualifies for the 2024 Boulder Business Hall of Fame.!
